- ➤ The Oxford NAACP will host its annual Freedom Fund Banquet at 4:30 p.m. April 26 in Miami’s Shriver Center—Courtis Fuller will speak and a buffet dinner will be served before scholarship winners and award recipients are honored. - ➤ The Oxford Area Trails System will host the OATS n’ Honey 5K and 10K race tomorrow at 9 a.m. on the Oxford trails before the Bee Festival—registration is open today at Enjoy Oxford at 14 W. Park Place from noon to 5 p.m. and again at Leonard Howell Park from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.—with each $35 entry including a water bottle and sticker. Oxford Observer

- ➤ Oxford Police have responded to nearly a dozen attempted vehicle thefts — including two cars that were stolen and later recovered plus two vehicles broken into last week — in the past month. Oxford Free Press
