- ➤ Oxford residents and local organizations have worked to ready the Oxford Winter House shelter that will open Dec. 1 and offer a safe refuge for up to 16 people during the cold months. The project received $70,000 in city funding and over $13,000 in donations (with another $43,000 pledged), and volunteers are now hiring coordinators and gathering supplies to keep it running. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Bagel & Deli opened in 1975 and is known for over 90 creative bagel combinations and special orders such as the 'Lottery' and 'Crunch and Munch.' Next year it will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a reunion party—bringing together longtime staff, students and alumni as a local food favorite. The Miami Student
