  • The City of Oxford is hosting its third annual Farm & Flea market today at Uptown parks. Local vendors, artisans & community groups will offer holiday shopping with food trucks and gift-wrapping services available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Oxford Free Press
  • On November 5, the Oxford Environmental Commission met to discuss changes to the deer management program as White Buffalo Inc. began work in Oxford by adding four private hunting areas and 15 new bowhunters; White Buffalo Inc. will return in December to survey the local deer population—followed by a five-day effort in January to remove 100 deer.  Oxford Free Press

  • Students at Miami University are urging Starbucks to improve fair work practices after reports said child labor was used on Guatemalan farms. CEO Brian Niccol, a Miami graduate, said he will restore the store’s community feel—though critics worry he has not clearly explained how he will fix ethical sourcing concerns.  The Miami Student

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Grubhub robots have become a quirky part of Miami University life in Oxford, Ohio as students guide the lost delivery units near campus landmarks—illustrating how technology and human touch mix in daily life. The units often wander and pause at crosswalks, prompting friendly assistance from students who help them find their way.  The Miami Student
  • Miami University will rebrand its regional campuses to focus on polytechnic education with a soft launch in fall 2026 and new curriculum in fall 2027.
