- ➤ Miami University and BCRTA teamed to launch a bus wrap that tells the story of Freedom Summer in Butler County. The wrap — highlighting Western College for Women's role in the fight for voting rights — was unveiled on November 11. Miami University
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Chop Bento, Oxford’s newest Asian restaurant, opened in mid-October at 19 W. High St and serves a blend of Chinese and Japanese dishes. Owner Eugene Lee built the restaurant himself — he hopes Oxford residents and college students will enjoy this authentic dining experience. Oxford Free Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Andy Rice and David Russell produced a 30-minute documentary called Banded that shows the work at the bird banding station in Hueston Woods State Park in Oxford. The film explains bird migration methods and conservation while the team plans to develop it into a feature film in Ecuador — expanding their research efforts. Miami University
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Miami University's Focus Health and Wellness Symposium: Thriving Together will be held on March 11 and is free for faculty, staff, and students to attend. Registration is open with proposals accepted through December 12 and keynote speaker Kristen Lee—an internationally recognized behavioral science clinician—will discuss mindfulness. Miami University

- ➤ Three Miami University faculty and 30 students are teaming with 30 peers from Mexico City to build skills for hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup—this project trains them in event management and policy planning to boost benefits for the local community and businesses. Miami University
