Talawanda middle and high schools will be connected by the Oxford Area Trail System once Phase V construction is complete; work includes land clearing, drainage structures, and three steel bridges.
The project is expected to be substantially finished early in 2027—adding a northern spur to Chestnut and Main streets near a planned Amtrak rail platform.
🎓 Education
Miami University will offer training on the Concur online travel booking tool on Nov.
13 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.—the session will take place in the art museum auditorium and is available remotely via Zoom. Remote attendees must register in advance and in-person participants are advised to plan transportation due to limited parking — an additional session is scheduled for Dec. 11 if needed.
Miami University is using immersive VR technology to train social work students with lifelike case studies, including a module on elder care where students see interactions between families & healthcare workers.
The department received part of a $1.55M grant from the Southern Ohio Behavioral Health Initiative and will expand its VR program into more undergraduate and graduate courses.
