The Butler County Regional Transit Authority has unveiled a new bus wrap that tells Western College’s role during Freedom Summer and the historic fight for voting rights—a project that debuted in June.

An event on Nov. 11 at Shriver Center’s Heritage Room will feature speakers and give community members a chance to board the bus and view its historical panels.

Nathan French, vice chair of the University Senate, told ASG on Tuesday night that a resolution to dissolve the senate was not properly presented and defended its purpose amid needed reforms.

He noted that while changes are underway under Senate Bill 1, the proposal was not brought to the floor—further discussions are set for the meeting on Nov. 3.

In October, Miami University faculty, researchers, and local officials received grant money from county, state, federal, and private sources to support projects in advanced manufacturing, long-term care, community, and environmental studies.

Awards ranged from $4 million for civic projects to smaller funds for research in fields like engineering, public management, and math.
