- ➤ Talawanda High School will offer two new healthcare training programs in January 2026 through Butler Tech—one for CNA credentials for juniors and one for LPN credentials for seniors if enough students enroll. Principal Scott Davie said the courses are designed to build a local workforce of skilled healthcare professionals needed by community medical centers. Oxford Free Press
- ➤ Grace Holmes, a Miami University senior in Biomedical Engineering, completed an internship at Cleveland Clinic’s Kunio Nakamura Lab focused on multiple sclerosis research — Jose Roberto Fabre Segundo, a senior in Physics with a Computer Science degree, worked on a quantum computer and added a Machine Learning minor during his internship. - ➤ At an Oct 10 meeting, officials said Oxford’s hotel tax brought in about $40,000 to $45,000 for the Economic Development Fund that will pay for traffic barriers to help keep events safe—measures discussed along with a new 90-day THC ban and forecasts of Ohio’s population drop. They noted these funds will support public safety upgrades amid evolving state laws and a changing demographic landscape. Oxford Free Press
