- ➤ Members of the Public Arts Commission met on Oct. 13 and said the parking garage mural is delayed because no structural engineer is available, which will push the project to next year—commission members also set a more focused art submission call for the municipal building and planned Miami University projects including a mural at the Duke Energy substation. They updated plans for Oxford to join a statewide celebration of Toni Morrison by asking students to read her work. Oxford Free Press

- ➤ Data Analytics student Finnbar Cooney spent last spring in Barcelona where he combined undergraduate research on Alzheimer’s prevention with cultural immersion, using 40,000 MRI scans & data from 8,000 patients to highlight cholesterol markers that may be linked to the disease. He worked under mentor Ignasi Montero Serra and faced language challenges while exploring new cultures and advancing his academic skills. Miami University
