- ➤ Talawanda High School junior Abbie Marcum launched a raffle fundraiser to help local students pay overdue fees and buy supplies for next school year, raising about $2,500 so far (an initial $500 was collected in 12 hours). Her project has received strong backing from Oxford businesses and community members (aimed at supporting 13 students). Oxford Free Press

- ➤ Miami University is hosting the Falling for Miami photo contest until Oct. 25, inviting current students, prospective students and their families, alumni, and staff to capture fall moments on campus. Three winners—chosen on Nov. 5—will receive Miami-themed prize packages valued at $450, $300, and $150. Miami University

- ➤ Miami University updates showed its undergrad teaching program ranked second among public schools and the school launched a new AI degree while offering equine-assisted therapy for students—plans to change the Hamilton campus to a polytechnic center and student projects like the online cemetery resource also were reported between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5. - ➤ Miami's varsity synchronized skating team trains together in Oxford—using daily practice and a strong team culture to win its fourth consecutive national title last season and to build on 23 national titles overall.
