- ➤ On Monday, the Oxford Area Solutions for Housing board held a panel discussion with local social and emergency service partners to update plans for the Oxford Cold Shelter, which will offer 22 beds for adults in need during December through February. Oxford City Council approved $70,000 in funding on Tuesday and a rental property near H&R Block on College Corner Pike is being considered, with committees set to establish policies and recruit volunteers for the project — ensuring flexible short-term support. - ➤ Miami University’s Honors College partnered with Project Dragonfly for its first pre-semester study abroad trip to Belize, where 20 first-year students learned about community-based conservation and leadership by visiting Maya ruins, snorkeling at Tobacco Caye, and engaging with local experts—an effort that set the stage for the group now starting their first Honors class together this fall.
