The Talawanda Oxford Pantry and Social Services held a groundbreaking ceremony on July 30 to start building a new one-stop facility that will merge services from three buildings into one store-like space.
The $1.5 million project (funded by the American Rescue Plan Act) will make help closer to Oxford residents and is expected to finish next March.
Oxford is partnering with 513 Green on the Sustainable Oxford Grant Program to help local businesses improve their sustainable efforts—offering grants that cover up to 50% of project costs with a $1,000 award cap—and work toward climate goals.
Initial applications closed on Aug 1 and winners will be announced by Sept 1 while eligible businesses, which must have operated for at least one year, may choose to skip the 513 Green checklist if desired.
