- ➤ Miami University received $7 million from Ohio’s state budget to launch the Ohio Institute for Quantum Computing Research, Talent, and Commercialization — a partnership with Cleveland Clinic designed to build a future-ready quantum computing workforce. The institute will be open to students from all Ohio colleges and will offer a new Quantum Computing major starting in August. Miami University
- ➤ Dominik Konkolewicz from Miami University has received the 2025 James Flack Norris Award for teaching chemistry from the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society because of his work with MACRO. He will join his co-founders in a November ceremony in Boston & the honor recognizes efforts that reach many classrooms nationwide. Miami University
- ➤ Four Miami University students developed a 3D-printed prosthetic hand that could ease the shortage of devices in war-torn regions following Ukraine’s post-invasion needs. They showcased the affordable design at the Undergraduate Research Forum on July 14 — the project aims to provide a lower-cost option for those in need. Miami University
