- ➤ Jacob Schlichter began his full-time work as a large animal veterinarian at Animal Care Clinic in Oxford, where he treats cows, sheep, goats and pigs. He grew up on a local farm and said his background helps him support neighboring farmers. Oxford Free Press
LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ Scapes, the tender stalk and edible flower bud of a garlic plant with a hard neck, are now available at the Oxford Farmers Market where 7 Wonders Farm sells them. They can be used in many recipes — such as stir-fry or roasted dishes — and offer a milder garlic flavor before local growers harvest the larger garlic bulbs later this summer. Oxford Free Press
