Good morning, Oxford.

At Silvoor Biological Sanctuary, volunteers are planting native wildflowers, removing invasive ivy, and installing a bench for hikers while advising that wearing sunscreen, a hat, and long sleeved clothes helps prevent garden injuries+ poison ivy exposure.

Oxford government and local groups are using volunteer-run waste stations (part of the Climate Action Plan) to sort trash from city events into compost, recycling, and landfill bins.

The effort (backed by a $28,000 grant and lessons from past festivals) works toward reducing waste and cutting landfill use in the community.
