EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Melissa Thomasson has been named interim vice president and dean at Miami University Regionals. She will work with Moira Casey to expand polytechnic offerings and boost enrollment as part of the ongoing MiamiTHRIVE initiative. Miami University
- ➤ Miami University approved a $280 million arena project that will begin once new recreation fields at Chestnut and Millett open and announced a 2–3% tuition increase for new students this academic year; faculty pay talks remain unresolved (subcommittee meetings provided the updates on May 14). SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Miami's head men's basketball coach Travis Steele signed a contract extension through the 2033-34 season on May 27, building on his record-setting leadership that earned the program its first MAC title since 2005 (his fourth year at the helm) and he will lead the team into the planned 2028 arena opening.
