  • A Hanover Township man, 38-year-old Alex Massey, faces two felony assault charges for attacking two victims in a May 19 McGonigle altercation—one victim was knocked unconscious and needed helicopter transport while the other, Larry Tye, was charged with spitting on a deputy—and his preliminary hearing is set for May 29.  Oxford Free Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Miami University will launch a new Bachelor of Science in Quantum Computing in August—Ohio’s first program that focuses on quantum computing software. The program is developed with input from experts and will give students real work experience at Cleveland Clinic and a new facility in the Cleveland Innovation District.  Miami University
  • This week, Miami University was featured in local media for an opera teacher warning about vocal nodules, a study on work requirements for low-income families, and a spring commencement where Gov. Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine received honorary doctorates at Yager Stadium — Miami students also unveiled a mural at Newport on Levee and announced four new academic degrees including one in artificial intelligence.  Miami University
