  • In 1809, Reverend Tyner and other pioneers established the Indian Creek Baptist Church in Reily Township, quickly growing its congregation; the adjacent cemetery holds Revolutionary patriots Heman Adams and Thomas Boone, linking local heritage to early Ohio settlement.  Oxford Free Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Associated Student Government announced the 2026 Outstanding Professor Award today in Oxford. Stephanie Danker received the award + 14 other professors were nominated for their dedication to teaching.  Miami University
  • Miami University seniors Sara McGinnis, Siena Madsen, and Caden McCollum were awarded the Astronaut Scholarship for 2026 by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, supporting their research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
