- ➤ On May 3, the Electric Root Festival was moved inside to Miami University’s Armstrong Student Center & away from Oxford’s Uptown parks due to rain. Organizers arranged a lineup featuring Afro State of Mind, a drum circle & free food that drew a lively crowd to celebrate Black arts and culture. Oxford Free Press
- ➤ Starting May 15 through May 20, ShareFest will collect donated furniture, appliances, clothing, food, and e-waste at Chestnut Fields Parking Lot from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.—the nonprofit will distribute these items to help local residents and social service agencies in need. Miami University
- ➤ On Wednesday, Miami University student-athletes from several sports cleared honeysuckle from trails at Mill Race Preserve near the Black Covered Bridge on Corso Road north of Oxford under MetroParks of Butler County supervision—completing a four-hour, split-shift service project that adds to their ongoing local volunteer efforts.
