EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ In spring, Miami University mailed out 'Graduation Celebration in a Box' to confirmed incoming students with domestic addresses, including a Miami pendant, red and white paper decorations and other items to show school pride. The university also accepted a smaller class size and expects lower merit scholarships due to rising costs and a projected enrollment decline — factors that may affect future enrollment. - ➤ Miami University is combining six language majors into one world languages and cultures program to address low enrollment. Officials say the plan will cut about 30 courses and add three new classes if approved—teachers worry the changes may lessen the depth of language study. Oxford Free Press
