- ➤ Miami University alumnus Wil Haygood (Boadway Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence since 2014-2015) was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences for 2026. This honor recognizes his achievements as an author, journalist and educator. Miami University
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Miami University honored four junior faculty with Scholar Awards on 4/23 for showing great potential in research; awardees include Acton (Economics), Mancini (Chemistry and Biochemistry), Soulliard (Psychology), and Sutton (History), marking a notable recognition of their contributions. - ➤ Katia Del Rio-Tsonis and Ganiva Reyes received University Faculty Scholar Awards at Miami University for their sustained excellence in research and student mentorship (recognized for breakthrough studies on tissue regeneration). Miami University
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Primary Health Solutions will offer Medicaid-covered dental services in Oxford this summer at 10 N. Locust St. in the TriHealth building. The center will open in June after receiving a $150,000 grant and will also provide school transportation and integrated care. Oxford Free Press
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Talawanda High School hosted its Dale Plank Invitational on April 21 with senior day recognition (posters and picture boards) and competitive track and field events among teams from 11 schools, with standout efforts from both seniors and younger athletes as the team readies for the Eaton Invitational on April 25.
