- ➤ SLAM student Abigail Echtenacher presented research on the 2026 World Cup’s impact on Mexico City’s businesses and residents at the Diplomacy Lab Fair in Washington this spring. Her study highlighted stadium renovations and challenges (including street vendor displacement) that affect local communities. Miami University
- ➤ Miami University dedicated the Mitchell Sustainability Park featuring over 3,300 solar panels above a geothermal wellfield that will generate about 2,000 MWh yearly and includes walking paths, seating areas and informational signage to teach sustainability for future Miamians. Miami University
- ➤ Oxford Physics Quest will host a free STEM workshop on quantum physics at Oxford Lane Library from June 1 to 4 for middle and high school students, and a guided visit to Miami’s Department of Physics is set on June 5. Online registration opens May 1. Oxford Free Press
- ➤ Miami University was ranked No. 94 overall and No. 10 in Education on Forbes’ America’s Best Employers for Company Culture list (Ohio’s top school and No. 6 among state employers), with the university improving its ranking from last year. Miami University
