The Oxford NAACP’s annual Freedom Fund Banquet is set for Saturday, April 26 at Miami University’s Shriver Center and will raise money for student scholarships and branch operations.

The event will start with a 30-minute reception at 4:30 p.m. (tickets cost $60) and will include a buffet, award presentations, and a speech by Courtis Fuller (a Cincinnati journalist).

Between April 7 and April 14, Oxford police responded to multiple incidents including shots fired at Parkview Arms, an arson at a fraternity house, burglary, theft, and cyber crimes such as extortion—no charges have been filed yet.

Multiple emergency vehicles were on the scene near the Brown Road—North Ridge Drive intersection in Oxford on April 17 at 1 p.m., with the operation led by the Cincinnati FBI Division as Oxford Police confirmed that further details have not been released.
