Miami University may change its classroom rules if Senate Bill 1 passes the House—now with the House Workforce and Higher Education Committee—and the bill could require courses to post syllabi while banning full-time faculty strikes—a move that critics say may restrict academic freedom. Senator Jerry Cirino introduced the bill on Jan 29, and it passed the Senate last month before moving to the next step.
