  • The Public Arts Commission chose finalist photographers during its Jan. 12 meeting to have their work displayed at the Municipal Building starting in March through the end of 2026.  Oxford Free Press
  • Award-winning author Wil Haygood will launch his new book 'The War Within a War: The Black Struggle in Vietnam and at Home' at Miami University + he spent four years talking with veterans to show how Black soldiers joined the Vietnam War and still fought for equal rights at home.  Miami University

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A new sustainability wall was installed in the Slant Walk hallway of Armstrong Student Center to connect visitors to the Mitchell Sustainability Park under construction on Western campus. The wall displays a 20-foot graphic plus digital slides on Miami's decarbonization efforts and a real-time energy display will launch in spring.  Miami University

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Miami alum Stephanie Costagliola spent 10 days this summer diving off Santa Marta in Colombia to gather coral spawn for reef restoration at Centro de Vida Marina, with funding from a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service grant; she will soon launch a new coral lab at Mystic Aquarium.  Oxford Free Press
