  • Oxford Free Press reported strong financial health for 2026 after Oxford-area households donated $36,000 in November and December, double the $18,000 target + securing extra funds from national organizations; 2025 revenue reached $192,000 against $148,000 in expenses.  Oxford Free Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Reily Township appointed volunteer chief Clayton Lightfield — a 20-year firefighter — to serve a one-year term and increased volunteer pay, effective Jan. 7. The board will decide on pilot community safety supply boxes to provide emergency resources as part of a Rural Community Program grant.  Oxford Free Press

  • Miami University athletics gained national attention when the RedHawks appeared in the Arizona Bowl broadcast on The CW — which spurred a 12% rise in social media engagement and a 36% boost in original content. The success follows an impressive start by the undefeated men’s basketball team.  Miami University
